Our voice was heard in 11 countries; the research generated and promoted by our work appeared in more than one publication a day. We further positioned the issue of abortion and others such as reproductive justice, obstetric violence, sexual education, as well as gender and COVID-19. We were a voice in political and social discussions around COVID-19 and its impact on gender and reproductive health issues, the Global Day of Action for Legal Abortion, on March 8, and state bills on a parental PIN.
We focused on our role in online social networks and promoted the search for new forms of dissemination. We participated in hundreds of private virtual meetings, but also in conferences, presentations, conversations, and Facebook Lives, among others. We strengthened our community of supporters, which currently includes over 100,000 people on social networks and an email list of over 4,000 individuals who receive our newsletter every month, to which one can subscribe on our website.
For almost ten years we have written weekly editorials for Punto (G)ire, a space on the Animal Político website on various issues related to the political context and reproductive justice.
In addition, GIRE members decide the themes and write the texts for our Todo Limón space, which this year has been a fundamental strategy to increase the number of our supporters. Our publications have been very well received on social networks.
All the material that we have generated through our research, which we have disseminated in the media, is available on our new website. Through our consultation platform one has access to relevant information on Abortion, Contraception, Maternal Mortality, Obstetric Violence, Assisted Reproduction and Work-Life Balance.
